FAQ Friday: Memorial Day and Veterans

On Friday, May 23, 2025, Attorney, Paula Mattson-Sarli recognizes Memorial Day and talks about our accreditation with the VA.

Our office wishes to recognize those that have lost their lives due to their service to our country. We also recognize the families that are left behind due to that ultimate sacrifice.

We honor those that have served and there are benefits to those who have served during war times. This benefit is often called pension or aid and attendance.

Our office is accredited with the VA and we can do VA benefits planning for the pension or survivor’s pension. To clarify, this benefit is different than disability compensation which is connected to service. The pension is not connected to service so it might be more closely connected to the possibility of your getting parkinsons or dementia and needing for care.

We can help with caregiver agreements, revocable living trusts and gifting to help with qualifying for the benefit.

We appreciate our service members and all they have done. We now hope to be of service to you.
